Kraken Enters US-Regulated Perpetual Futures Market with 30-Day Launch Plan

Kraken is set to enter the US-regulated perpetual futures market with plans to launch CFTC-approved contracts within 30 days, as competition among major exchanges intensifies.

The move follows federal approval for the instruments and aims to bring activity that has largely remained offshore into a regulated domestic venue. Kraken will use Bitnomial Exchange, recently acquired by parent company Payward, as the platform for trading these contracts.

Rivals are also rapidly expanding their offerings in response to the CFTC's approval of Bitcoin perpetual futures contracts. Coinbase Financial Markets and Deribit have already offered US institutional clients access to global crypto options and perpetual futures markets through regulated futures commission merchant Deribit.
