US Senate Banking Committee Releases Revised Clarity Act Draft
The US Senate Banking Committee has released a revised draft of the Clarity Act, a cryptocurrency regulation bill aimed at providing clarity and transparency in the industry.
The 309-page document addresses several areas of concern raised by crypto companies, including protections for decentralized finance activities. Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson, who had previously criticized earlier drafts, has welcomed the latest version, stating that it represents a significant improvement over previous versions.
Hoskinson emphasized the importance of protecting open-source developers from unfair liability, specifically highlighting Section 604 of the bill. He argued that removing this provision would pose a threat to the open-source innovation environment and could lead to unintended consequences.
