Ohio Launches Statewide Digital Wallet Program for Cryptocurrency Payments
The Ohio Treasurer's Office has introduced a new digital wallet program called Buckeye Billfold, which enables residents to pay state fees using cryptocurrency and other funds.
Buckeye Billfold is the first statewide initiative in Ohio to promote digital asset payments. The program allows users to store their payment information, including credit cards, bank transfers, or cryptocurrencies, in a single app. This makes it easier for them to make payments using their phone or other devices.
The digital wallet program automatically converts cryptocurrency used into U.S. dollars at the time of transaction, ensuring seamless processing. State officials believe that this initiative will reduce processing costs and save time for both the government and users.
