Hyperliquid's HYPE Token Experiences Net Daily Emission Amid Technical Breakout
Hyperliquid's native token HYPE has been attracting attention from crypto market participants due to its unique supply dynamics. According to data from Hyperliquid Hub, the token experienced a net daily emission of 10,013 tokens on March 15, 2026. This was caused by a discrepancy between HyperCore buybacks and staking rewards.
On that day, HyperCore repurchased 16,809 HYPE at an average price of $37.41 per token. However, the total amount distributed as staking rewards and validator payments exceeded this figure by 10,013 tokens. This net emission difference translates to approximately 300,390 tokens per month and 3,604,680 tokens annually.
The buyback mechanism is designed to be price-sensitive, meaning that it repurchases more tokens when prices fall and fewer when prices rise. This helps moderate supply pressure on the network and maintain a balance between token emission and demand.
