Ethereum Institutional Aims to Bridge Gap with Financial Institutions
Ethereum Institutional launched on Wednesday, backed by Ethereum co-founder Joe Lubin and treasury companies BitMine Immersion Technologies and SharpLink. The nonprofit's goal is to serve as a liaison between the Ethereum ecosystem and financial institutions, including banks, asset managers, and portfolio managers.
The organization aims to address a long-standing communications gap between Ethereum and major financial institutions. Standard Chartered welcomed the move, stating it addresses a 'communications gap that has existed between Ethereum and major institutions for years.'
Ethereum currently dominates the tokenized real-world asset market with nearly 58% share and accounts for roughly half of the $311 billion stablecoin market. Despite this dominance, rival blockchains are stepping up efforts to attract institutional users.
