Bitcoin Surges Past $71,000 Amid Global Market Rally
The global cryptocurrency market experienced a notable surge on April 8, with Bitcoin breaking through the $71,000 mark. The asset's price jumped by 4.3% in a single day, reaching $71,600 at the time of writing. This significant increase is attributed to the temporary ceasefire between the US and Iran.
The move had a ripple effect across the market, with other top cryptocurrencies also experiencing substantial gains. Ethereum's price increased by 6.3%, reaching its highest point since mid-March. Hyperliquid led the pack among the top 10 cryptocurrencies, rising by 7.8% in 24 hours.
The total market value of cryptocurrencies saw a 4.15% increase to $2.45 trillion. However, the daily liquidation volume exceeded $597 million, with the majority of losses coming from short positions.
