Ethereum Foundation-Backed Project Exposes Infiltration by North Korean Operatives
The Ethereum Foundation has taken significant steps to address operational security threats within its ecosystem.
A six-month stipend program, funded by the Ethereum Foundation, supported the development of the Ketman Project. This initiative focused on investigating 'fake developers' embedded within crypto companies.
During this period, the project identified 100 North Korean IT workers operating under fake identities within Web3 organizations.
The project's findings were shared with about 53 projects that potentially employed active DPRK operatives. The Ethereum Foundation highlighted the importance of addressing these operational security threats.
