Zcash Prepares for Critical Mainnet Upgrade on July 28

The Zcash network is preparing for an urgent mainnet upgrade on July 28 to address a critical vulnerability in its Orchard pool.

The Ironwood upgrade will activate at block height 3,428,143 and fix a severe issue that could have allowed an attacker to mint unlimited counterfeit ZEC tokens.

Zcash core developer Sean Bowe disclosed the vulnerability, which was responsibly reported before any exploitation occurred.
