Baillie Gifford Enters Tokenized Fixed Income with Ethereum and Solana Fund
British asset manager Baillie Gifford has launched a tokenized fixed income fund on both Ethereum and Solana blockchains. This move is part of a growing trend to utilize blockchain technology for access to conventional yield products.
The fund, which operates across two large blockchain networks with smart contracts and settlement of digital assets, allows it to interact with the two environments efficiently. Ethereum is one of the most popular platforms for decentralized apps, while Solana offers high transaction speeds and reduced fees.
BNY, a regulated financial institution, provides the tokenization protocol that transforms conventional financial assets into tokens through blockchain technology. The company also offers wallet services to facilitate custody and processing of transactions, enabling secure issuance and transfer of tokenized assets.
