BNP Paribas Leverages Ethereum for Tokenization Pilot
BNP Paribas, a French banking group, has embarked on a pilot project to tokenize its money market fund using Ethereum's public blockchain infrastructure. This move is part of the company's efforts to explore the potential of tokenizing financial instruments while ensuring regulatory compliance.
The asset management division of BNP Paribas has utilized Ethereum for this pilot project, which involves issuing tokenized shares of the BNP Paribas Asset Management money market fund via the AssetFoundry platform. The digital assets are issued under a restricted access model, allowing only authorized participants to own and transfer tokens.
This approach enables BNP Paribas and its asset management division to assess how public networks can be integrated into regulated fund structures while maintaining high standards of governance, investor protection, and operational resilience.
