Google Warns Crypto Wallets Vulnerable to Quantum Computer Attacks

Google's latest research has shed light on the vulnerability of cryptocurrency wallets to quantum computer attacks. According to the company's whitepaper, an advanced quantum computer could potentially crack most crypto wallets in minutes.

The research estimates that breaking elliptic curve cryptography would require fewer than 500,000 physical qubits, a significant reduction from previous estimates. This has raised concerns about the long-term security of blockchain networks and has prompted Google to call for the adoption of post-quantum cryptography by 2029.
