Visa Expands Blockchain Payments to Nine Networks
Visa has made a major push into blockchain payments by expanding its stablecoin settlement pilot to nine networks. This expansion is a key milestone in the company's efforts to bring blockchain-based payment rails into mainstream use.
The nine new blockchains added to Visa's network include Arc, Base, Canton, Polygon, and Tempo, in addition to existing support for Avalanche, Ethereum, Solana, and Stellar. This move reflects a broader shift in financial infrastructure towards multi-chain strategies that offer flexibility and specialization tailored to different use cases.
The expansion of stablecoin settlement to nine blockchains marks a significant increase in Visa's annualized run rate, reaching $7 billion. This growth signals a clear transition from experimental blockchain pilots to real-world financial deployment. The company's recognition by the BeInCrypto Institutional 100 Awards 2026 as a nominee for Best Stablecoin Infrastructure is also a testament to its growing influence in the crypto space.
