Farage Promotes Crypto Ally's Interests Amid Investigation
Nigel Farage, under investigation for taking an undeclared £5m 'gift' from crypto billionaire Christopher Harborne, has been promoting existing blockchain-based currencies like Tether.
Tether Limited Inc., where Harborne is a part-owner, issued the popular cryptocurrency stablecoin 'Tether', pegged to the US dollar. This allows users to trade their cryptocurrency for real-world money and vice versa.
Despite Tether's profits falling slightly in 2025, the company made $10bn, with total assets rising to $49bn. Harborne owns a 12% share, making him one of the world's richest individuals.
Farage has met with Bank of England chair Andrew Bailey to promote existing blockchain-based currencies and specifically plugged Tether in a radio interview beforehand.
