Base Aligns with Ethereum, Tron in Betting Big on AI Agent Economy

Base, the Ethereum layer-2 network, has released its 2026 roadmap, which includes upgrading key systems to support an AI agent economy. The move follows similar efforts from other blockchains and companies, including Ethereum, Tron, Visa, and Stripe.

The upgrades will include a purpose-built market infrastructure with new smart accounts, tokens, and scaling solutions. This will enable AI agents to build, own, and trade alongside humans, according to Base's 2026 mission statement.
