Ethereum Tokenization Accelerates on Wall Street Amid Global Regulatory Shifts
Wall Street's adoption of Ethereum tokenization is accelerating as institutions move beyond experimental pilots to full-scale production. According to Vivek Raman, co-founder of Etherealize, financial firms are now treating public blockchains as essential infrastructure, akin to the internet.
This shift from exploratory engagement to widespread adoption has been driven by Ethereum's established dominance in stablecoins and liquidity, creating a powerful network effect that attracts traditional players. Major crypto exchanges like Coinbase Global are expanding their offerings into tokenized traditional assets, with plans to launch options trading for both cryptocurrencies and equities.
However, the market performance of native assets like Ether has not immediately reflected this adoption, due to the long institutional adoption cycles and lag between infrastructure development and full migration of capital onto the chain. The global regulatory landscape continues to evolve, creating both opportunities and challenges for digital asset players.
