Sharplink Adds to Ethereum Holdings Amid Market Volatility
Sharplink, a company known for its Ethereum holdings, made a significant purchase on June 25, 2026. According to CoinMarketCap, Sharplink bought 5,000 ETH worth $7.85 million from crypto brokerage FalconX. This marks the firm's first Ethereum acquisition in eight months.
The purchase comes as Sharplink sits on a substantial paper loss of approximately $1.79 billion. The company's unrealized loss is attributed to its current holdings being valued at around $1.3 billion, with an average purchase price of about $3,609 per ETH.
Sharplink's move may seem counterintuitive given the current market conditions, where Ethereum fell 5% in the past 24 hours and traded near $1,555. Bitcoin slipped below $59,000, while Tether's USDT briefly surpassed Ethereum in market value.
