G7 Targets North Korea's Crypto Theft Network in Coordinated Action

The G7 nations have taken North Korea's crypto theft network as one of their major security concerns, following several massive attacks on decentralized finance in 2026.

In a meeting at Évian, leaders from these countries called for coordinated action against North Korean crypto thefts and cybercrime. This move builds upon discussions already underway after the previous summit held in Canada.

The approach has hardened its stance on crypto thefts, no longer viewing them as mere computer crimes but rather as linked to sanction evasion, financing the North Korean state, and developing its military programs.
