Grayscale Identifies Top Blockchains for Institutional Capital
Regulatory clarity on crypto is expected to bring significant opportunities for institutional investors. Grayscale, a prominent asset manager, has identified the top blockchains that will likely absorb this influx of capital once the US passes the CLARITY Act.
The company's analysis suggests that Ethereum, Solana, BNB Chain, and Canton Network are currently leading in tokenized assets, stablecoins, and transaction volume. These blockchains have already demonstrated their capabilities in handling institutional-grade traffic and have established a strong presence in the decentralized finance (DeFi) space.
While regulatory clarity is expected to benefit these top-performing blockchains, other platforms such as Avalanche, Ethereum Layer 2 networks Base and Arbitrum, Hyperliquid, and Tron may also see increased adoption. Bitcoin, despite its limitations in smart contracts and Layer 2 ecosystem, will still benefit from the industry's most secure asset and leading collateral status.
The CLARITY Act has cleared the Senate Banking Committee but requires a full Senate floor vote, House reconciliation, and a presidential signature to become law. However, with time constraints and competing priorities, its passage may face challenges, potentially pushing it into July or beyond.
