Greece Rejects Binance's MiCA Licence Application, EU Access at Risk
Binance is at risk of losing its ability to serve European Union clients after Greece's Hellenic Capital Market Commission reportedly rejected its MiCA licence application.
The decision, which has not been officially confirmed by the regulator, comes ahead of a key EU deadline on June 30/July 1 when crypto firms need authorisation to keep serving clients across the bloc under the Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation.
Binance had applied for the licence through its subsidiary Binary Greece and MiCA passporting strategy, which would have allowed it to operate in other EU countries without needing separate licences.
