IREN Lands Microsoft and Nvidia Partnerships for AI Data Center Push
IREN, a NASDAQ-listed company, has been rapidly expanding its presence in the artificial intelligence (AI) market through strategic partnerships and infrastructure investments. The company has signed long-term contracts with Microsoft and Nvidia to build AI data centers, targeting $4.4 billion in annual recurring revenue.
The most significant deal is a $3.4 billion five-year agreement tied to Nvidia's Blackwell GPUs, which is expected to drive IREN's growth in the AI compute market. The company has been shifting its focus from cryptocurrency infrastructure to large-scale AI data center building and operation, reflecting the growing demand for AI compute capacity worldwide.
IREN's stock price has reflected this shift, increasing by 10.6% year-to-date and nearly nine times its value over the past three years. However, the company has faced near-term pressure, with a 21.3% decline in the past week and a 25.7% drop in the past month.
The expansion of international data center capacity will help IREN serve a growing roster of AI-focused enterprise clients. The company's strategy involves vertical integration and preferred partner status with Nvidia to grow recurring AI cloud revenues and develop power-efficient data centers at scale.
