DTCC Enhances Blockchain-Based Collateral Management with Chainlink Integration
The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) has taken a significant step in modernizing its collateral management system by partnering with Chainlink to integrate its infrastructure. This collaboration aims to reduce the complexities and inefficiencies associated with current collateral systems, where assets are often trapped across institutions and time zones.
DTCC's AppChain, a blockchain platform built on Besu technology, will utilize Chainlink's Runtime Environment (CRE) and data standard to support pricing, valuation, margining, collateral optimization, and settlement. This integration is expected to enable near real-time collateral movement across global markets and blockchains.
The partnership builds upon DTCC's earlier work with Chainlink, including the Smart NAV pilot in 2024, which tested bringing mutual fund net asset value data onto blockchains. The success of this pilot has paved the way for the integration of Chainlink's infrastructure into DTCC's AppChain.
