Bitcoin's Price Volatility Declines as Institutional Adoption Grows
Bitcoin's notorious price swings have been a subject of concern for investors and analysts alike. However, recent data from Charles Schwab suggests that the digital asset is maturing and becoming more stable.
The analysis shows that Bitcoin's 2025 volatility rate dropped to 42%, roughly half of what it was in 2021. This decline in volatility indicates a shift towards calmer price movements, with fewer extreme swings.
According to the report, major tech stocks such as Tesla and Nvidia are now more volatile than Bitcoin. In fact, these companies' daily price movement indicators point to a gradual shift in Bitcoin's overall risk profile.
While Bitcoin's stability is improving, it still carries higher long-term risks compared to traditional investments. During the 2022 market downturn, the asset dropped 77% from its peak, highlighting that significant fluctuations are not unique to crypto.
The report also notes that institutional adoption is playing a key role in Bitcoin's stabilizing behavior. Growing integration into mainstream finance is driving increased trading activity and balancing out price movements.
