Tether Expands Renewable Energy Commitment with Brazilian Bitcoin Mining Pilot
Tether has made a significant step towards reducing the environmental impact of Bitcoin mining with its latest venture in Brazil. The 10-megawatt pilot, launched on July 1, utilizes renewable energy generated from sugarcane bagasse waste to power over 1,280 mining rigs.
Adecoagro, a leading provider of renewable energy in South America, operates the facility and has a substantial portfolio of clean energy capacity. The move is seen as a key development in Tether's efforts to promote sustainable practices within the cryptocurrency industry.
