The cryptocurrency industry has experienced a substantial decrease in hacking losses, with a remarkable 98% drop in February 2026 compared to the same month last year.

According to a report from PeckShield, a leading security solutions provider for the blockchain network, the total loss was $26.5 million, down significantly from $1.5 billion in February 2025.

The decline is attributed to improved security measures and the absence of mega-drain events, which were prevalent in previous years.
