Ripple CTO Emeritus Highlights XRP Use Cases Ahead of Swell 2026

Ripple's CTO Emeritus David Schwartz highlighted XRP use cases across various areas ahead of Ripple Swell 2026, the company's largest event yet. The event is expected to attract over 1,500 attendees and feature more than 75 speakers.

Schwarz emphasized the real-world adoption and community-driven development of XRP, pointing to its utility in payments, tokenization, decentralized finance (DeFi), interoperability, and artificial intelligence (AI). He noted that recent Ripple initiatives have expanded XRP's presence in payments, treasury management, liquidity, and cross-chain applications.

Ripple has described Swell 2026 as its largest event to date, with more than 1,500 attendees, over 75 speakers, and more than 50 sessions planned. The speaker list includes prominent figures such as Matt Damon, co-founder of Water.org; Tom Farley, chairman and CEO of Bullish; Brad Garlinghouse, CEO of Ripple; Billy Hult, CEO of Tradeweb; Monica Long, president of Ripple; and Schwartz himself.

Schwartz's comments on XRP's use cases come as the asset continues to see adoption beyond short-term price action. Recent commentary has focused on XRP activity across payments, tokenization, liquidity provision, and settlement, with institutions, developers, and businesses building applications around the asset.
