Helius Acquires Light Protocol to Enhance Solana's Privacy Capabilities
Helius, a prominent Solana infrastructure company, has made a strategic move to bolster the network's privacy ecosystem by acquiring Light Protocol. This acquisition brings together infrastructure expertise and cryptographic innovation to deliver enterprise-grade zero-knowledge solutions for both payment systems and decentralized finance protocols.
The combined entity will focus on delivering private transactions and confidential DeFi applications on Solana, building upon previous ZK Compression technology developed in collaboration with Helius. This compression framework leverages zero-knowledge cryptographic proofs to minimize on-chain data storage expenses.
Light Protocol's technology could ultimately establish itself as a fundamental component of Solana's privacy infrastructure layer, enabling the development of scalable consumer and enterprise applications without encountering prohibitive storage costs.
