Buterin Unveils Zero-Knowledge Billboard Demo for Anonymous Posting

Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin has unveiled an experimental application built on Aztec that demonstrates anonymous posting with moderation features powered by zero-knowledge technology. The project, which is still in its early stages, combines private posting with built-in moderation tools using ZK-SNARKs.

The demo focuses on anonymous posting and identity protection, but does not yet include the complete reputation and moderation system described in earlier research. Users can prove they hold valid credentials without revealing their wallet or identity, and reputation checks occur inside cryptographic proofs instead of appearing on a public blockchain account.

The project uses Aztec's notes and nullifiers to manage private state, storing encrypted information in notes while preventing users from repeating the same action without exposing their identities. The prototype also introduces rate limits tied to deposit size, allowing users to publish more frequently by depositing larger amounts.
