Crypto Exploits Plummet to Lowest Level in Nearly a Year
Crypto exploits have seen a significant decline in recent months, with February experiencing the lowest number of hacks in nearly a year.
Data compiled by blockchain security firm CertiK revealed that total losses reached just $35.7 million, marking a sharp drop from January's staggering losses. The figures also represent a massive year-over-year contraction, with last year's February dominated by a historic $1.5 billion exploit on the Bybit exchange.
Despite the decline in illicit activity, targeted attacks still managed to drain millions from decentralized finance protocols. One notable example was a hacker exploiting the community-managed YieldBlox Blend pool on the Stellar network, resulting in losses of over $10 million.
