Emirates NBD Becomes First MENAT Bank to Launch Blockchain-Enabled Cross-Border Payments

Emirates NBD has launched real-time cross-border USD payments using blockchain technology. The Dubai-based bank is the first in the Middle East, North Africa, and Türkiye region to offer this service.

The launch follows a successful live transaction with JPMorgan as both the settlement and beneficiary bank. Emirates NBD plans to scale the service by connecting with more global banks and introducing additional currencies and settlement corridors.

According to Emirates NBD's group head of transaction banking services, Anith Daniel, 'Moving from partnership to live execution on the Partior network enables us to offer faster USD settlement for JPMorgan beneficiaries, supporting more efficient treasury operations for our clients.'
