Vitalik Buterin Proposes AI-Powered DAO Governance System
Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO) governance continues to face challenges with low voter turnout and power concentration among large token holders. To address this issue, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin has proposed a system that utilizes personal AI agents to enhance participation.
The core idea is for users to deploy their own personal AI model, trained on their past messages and stated values, to vote on their behalf across thousands of DAO decisions. The AI agent would handle routine votes automatically and only flag important decisions for human review, ensuring that users are not overwhelmed by the sheer volume of proposals.
To maintain voter privacy, Buterin suggests using zero-knowledge proofs, a cryptographic tool that lets users prove they are eligible to vote without revealing their wallet address or how they voted. This would prevent coercion, bribery, and 'whale watching,' where smaller voters copy the choices of large token holders.
