CoinShares Enters European UCITS Market with Regulated Crypto Products

CoinShares has expanded its reach in Europe by launching a UCITS (Undertakings for Collective Investment in Transferable Securities) platform, which allows institutional investors to access regulated digital asset products. The company's move into the UCITS market comes as institutional demand for regulated crypto investment products continues to grow across the region.

According to CoinShares, many large investors have remained on the sidelines due to restrictions tied to existing investment structures. However, the new platform aims to remove this barrier by offering a range of digital asset and thematic investment strategies within the UCITS framework.

The company's first product under the platform is the CoinShares Bitcoin Mining UCITS ETF, which began trading on Deutsche Börse Xetra on Tuesday. Jean-Marie Mognetti, co-founder, president, and CEO of CoinShares, described the launch as more than a single fund, representing the firm's entry into the UCITS market through a platform capable of supporting future regulated investment products.

The UCITS platform operates with a largely fixed cost base, giving CoinShares room to expand its product lineup over time. The company reported $165.7 million in revenue for 2025 and is listed on Nasdaq, where shares closed 2.1% lower at $4.11 on Monday.
