Saylor Forecasts Bitcoin's Rise to Global Digital Capital Asset
Strategy Inc. Executive Chairman Michael Saylor has shared his forecast for Bitcoin's next decade in an essay on X. By 2036, he expects Bitcoin to become more deeply embedded in global finance. This includes wider ownership by individuals, corporations, investment funds, banks, and sovereigns.
Saylor predicts that Bitcoin will serve as reserve capital, collateral, and settlement infrastructure for institutions, banks, and sovereigns. He also anticipates the expansion of financial systems around Bitcoin while its base protocol remains resistant to significant change.
According to Saylor, the crypto asset's job is not to become everything, but rather to be the stable digital capital beneath a changing financial system. The forecast highlights the importance of separating Bitcoin from the credit, yield, insurance, and structured products connected to it, with innovation occurring mainly in those surrounding layers.
While Saylor's prediction remains uncertain, confirmation would require broader institutional reserve holdings, mature Bitcoin-backed credit markets, increased high-value settlement activity, and durable financial products built around a comparatively stable protocol.
