DeFi Incident Results in $240K Losses for LlamaLend Users
A significant incident has occurred in the DeFi space, resulting in substantial losses for users on LlamaLend. According to reports, a price manipulation event triggered the liquidation of 27 users' positions, resulting in around $240,000 in losses. The issue was attributed to a faulty oracle configuration in the sDOLA-cr vUSD pool, which allowed an attacker to exploit the system.
Investigations by security firms and developers revealed that Inverse Finance's protocol was not affected by the incident. The attacker utilized a flash loan to manipulate the sDOLA balance, leading to incorrect collateral values and subsequent liquidation of user positions.
This is not the first time that DOLA has been involved in a security issue. In April 2022, a hacker exploited a price oracle to steal $15.6 million from Frontier, a money-market platform operated by Inverse Finance.
