Pi Network has announced its sponsorship of Consensus 2026 in Miami, marking a significant milestone for the project. As part of the event, both co-founders, Nicolas Kokkalis and Chengdiao Fan, will present on key aspects of the network.

Kokkalis will join a panel discussion titled 'How to Prove You're Human in an AI World (Without Doxing Yourself)', addressing one of the fastest-growing problems in the AI era: AI-generated fake profiles. With its 18 million KYC-verified users, Pi Network argues that it has a structural answer to this problem, providing a proof-of-personhood solution.

Fan will present on 'Aligning Web3, AI, and Blockchain for Utility', positioning tokens as tools within real applications rather than stand-alone financial instruments. This framing highlights PI's potential as infrastructure for sustainable ecosystem growth.

The Consensus 2026 sponsorship arrives at a critical moment for Pi Network, with all Mainnet node operators required to upgrade to Protocol 22 by April 27. Missing this deadline will result in automatic disconnection from the network. The upgrade introduces a dual-interface setup, allowing node operators to use both a node screen and a desktop Pi application simultaneously.
