Trump Media Abandons Cryptocurrency ETF Plans Amid Regulatory Shift
Trump Media & Technology Group has made a significant shift in its plans for cryptocurrency exchange-traded funds (ETFs). The company has withdrawn its applications for both a Bitcoin ETF and a combined Bitcoin-Ethereum ETF, citing regulatory changes as the reason. According to the filing, the decision was made due to a change in approach by regulators, which would provide more flexibility for investment strategies.
The US spot Bitcoin ETF market has been gaining traction in recent months, with Morgan Stanley's launch of its product in April gathering $266 million in total net assets. This comes as BlackRock and Fidelity also offer similar products, but at higher expense ratios than Morgan Stanley's. The success of these products highlights the growing demand for crypto-related investments.
