Spacecoin Launches Decentralized Internet Network Using Blockchain-Enabled Satellites

Spacecoin is a pioneering project that aims to create a decentralized internet network using blockchain-enabled satellites in low-Earth orbit. The goal of this initiative is to provide a reliable and efficient communication layer for space-based data centers, which can harness abundant solar energy and natural cooling.

The project has made significant progress so far. In December 2024, Spacecoin launched its first satellite, CTC-0, establishing ground-to-satellite connectivity. This was followed by the launch of three additional satellites in November 2025, enabling testing of intersatellite links.

These direct links are crucial for future orbital data centers, allowing them to communicate directly with each other without routing every byte back through Earth. Spacecoin also plans to make satellite capacity available to retail investors, expanding participation in the space economy and broadening access to global markets, education, and financial services.
