Cardano IOG Faces Strong Opposition to Research Funding Proposal

Cardano's Input Output Global (IOG) has submitted a research proposal to fund scaling and quantum security projects on the Cardano network. The proposal, titled 'Cardano Vision 2026', seeks 32.9 million ADA from the Cardano treasury. However, the proposal is facing strong opposition from Cardano governance voters, with over 86% voting against it as of June 8.

IOG has stated that they will not resubmit the proposal if it fails, which could have significant implications for the network's research and development plans. The proposal includes funding for Leios scaling technology and quantum-resistant cryptography, both crucial areas of research for the Cardano network.
