Lubin-Linked Wallet Transfers 80,001 Ether Amid Ethereum Price Decline
A recent on-chain transaction has stirred up attention in the cryptocurrency market as it pertains to one of its most influential figures: Ethereum co-founder Joseph Lubin.
The transfer, which took place on June 6, saw 80,001 ether leave a wallet linked to Lubin. This amount represents about a third of the total balance held within the wallet, which is still substantial at approximately $370 million worth of ETH.
This move comes during a period when Ethereum's price has been experiencing significant declines, dropping roughly 47% in 2026 and losing 32% through May alone. This combination of factors has led to concerns among traders that prominent holders may be reducing their exposure to the market.
Lubin is one of the most well-known figures in the crypto space due to his involvement with Ethereum and Consensys, a software company behind the MetaMask wallet. His public stance on ETH-focused treasury companies has been bullish, describing them as 'profound innovation.' However, the recent transfer from his linked wallet may suggest otherwise.
