Grinex, a cryptocurrency exchange with ties to Russia's digital asset market, has suspended operations following a significant cyberattack. The breach, which occurred on Thursday, involved the theft of approximately US$15 million from wallets linked to Grinex.
Evidence suggests that the stolen funds were routed through Tron and Ethereum networks before being converted into TRX and ETH. This conversion likely aimed to reduce the risk of asset freezing by Tether, which can blacklist USDT tied to illicit activity.
