Bitcoin Price Surges to Over $78,000 Following Iran Ceasefire Extension
The price of Bitcoin has reached a new milestone, surpassing the $78,000 mark on Wednesday morning. This significant increase comes on the heels of President Donald Trump's announcement to extend the Iran ceasefire indefinitely.
This move has had a positive impact on global markets, with equities and cryptocurrencies alike benefiting from the improved risk sentiment. Bitcoin's price surge was also fueled by Strategy's largest purchase in 17 months, which saw the company acquire 34,164 BTC for $2.54 billion.
The extension of the ceasefire has provided a sense of stability to the Middle East region, and markets are reacting positively to this development. As a result, global crypto funds pulled in a record-breaking $1.4 billion last week, with Bitcoin taking the lion's share at $1.12 billion.
