Worldcoin Plunges as World Launches Enhanced Identity Verification Platform
Worldcoin (WLD) suffered a notable decline of 13.4% to $0.28 on April 17, amidst a broader cryptocurrency market gain of 2.2%. The downturn occurred in conjunction with the launch of World's revamped identity verification platform, dubbed 'World 4.0.' This platform introduces enhanced features such as account-based verification and credential recovery mechanisms.
The technology relies on the Orb apparatus to capture facial and iris biometric data, generating a distinctive cryptographic identifier. The captured imagery is immediately deleted following processing, with anonymized information distributed through a decentralized infrastructure.
