Crypto Clarity Act Faces Tight Deadline as Lawmakers Rush to Pass Legislation
The Crypto Clarity Act, a major bill aimed at providing regulatory clarity for digital assets, is nearing a key deadline as lawmakers have limited time to pass the legislation before the August recess. The White House has reportedly agreed to an ethics package sought by Democrats, which includes stricter conflict-of-interest rules and stronger investor protections.
According to Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, negotiations are 'at the one-yard line,' indicating that a deal is close. Senator Kevin Cramer echoed this view, saying lawmakers are 'almost there' but still need to review the latest amendments.
Anchorage Digital CEO Nathan McCauley emphasized the importance of long-term regulatory clarity for the crypto industry, which currently has about $340 billion in stablecoins and tokenized assets. He noted that the sector has significant room to grow under a clear framework.
