TON Foundation Aims to Make Telegram Global Super App with Seamless Crypto Payments

The TON Foundation has set its sights on making Telegram the global 'super app' by integrating seamless crypto payments through stablecoins, mini apps, and a user-friendly experience. The foundation's goal is to become the everyday financial layer for a digital generation.

Nikola Plecas, VP of Payments at the TON Foundation, explained that the foundation aims to make complexity invisible in crypto payments. This includes optimizing customer journeys and prioritizing 'gasless transactions', which allow developers to subsidize fees or let users pay transaction costs in the same token they are sending.

The foundation's roadmap includes launching a crypto-linked card in 2026, which would enable users to spend their tokens anywhere Visa or Mastercard is accepted. Additionally, the foundation is doubling down on stablecoins by integrating assets like USDT directly into the wallet interface.
