BitBoy Hit with $2.8M Defamation Judgment for False Murder Claims Against Mr Wonderful

Crypto influencer Ben Armstrong, known as 'BitBoy', has been ordered to pay $2.8 million in damages after being found liable for defamation against businessman and TV personality Kevin O'Leary, also known as 'Mr. Wonderful'.

The lawsuit was filed in March 2025 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, alleging that Armstrong published false statements on social media platforms accusing O'Leary and his wife of murdering two people in a 2019 boating accident.

O'Leary's wife, Linda, was charged with careless operation of a vessel but was later exonerated following a trial and acquitted after a 13-day trial. The court found that Armstrong's posts significantly harmed O'Leary both professionally and personally.
