OpenClaw AI Agent Framework Implements Cryptocurrency Ban After Scam Incident

The OpenClaw AI agent framework has taken steps to protect its community from cryptocurrency-related scams after a series of incidents left the project's creator reeling.

According to reports, scammers hijacked the project's accounts and launched a fake token called $CLAWD on Solana, which reached a market capitalization of $16 million within hours. However, when the project's creator publicly denied any involvement in the scam, the token crashed over 90%, wiping out late buyers.

The incident left the project's creator, Peter Steinberger, fielding harassment from traders who blamed him for not endorsing the token. In an effort to prevent similar incidents in the future, OpenClaw has implemented a blanket ban on mentioning cryptocurrencies in its Discord community.
