Retail Investors Diversify Portfolios Beyond Cryptocurrencies

The growing interest in diversifying investment portfolios is becoming increasingly evident in the cryptocurrency market.

A new report by Bitget, the Universal Exchange (UEX) platform, has shed light on this trend through its User Asset Allocation Report 2026. The data collected from over 6,000 users worldwide indicates a shift towards more diversified investments, with retail traders allocating capital to various asset classes beyond cryptocurrencies.

The report highlights that 52% of Bitget users now hold stocks alongside cryptocurrencies, while 35% own gold or other precious metals, making commodities the most common 'non-crypto asset' category among survey participants. Additionally, 51% of respondents use AI tools for investment decisions, demonstrating a growing reliance on technology in financial decision-making.

The report also notes that high-net-worth investors are accelerating diversification even further, with an average annual return of 13% posted by Bitget clients in 2025. Furthermore, the majority of surveyed high-net-worth clients plan to increase investments in crypto assets, stocks, and commodities in 2026 to manage risk more actively.
