DeFi Community Unites in Support of Aave Users

A recent crypto hack has exposed the vulnerability of decentralized finance (DeFi) platforms, but it has also shown the resilience of the community. In response to the Kelp DAO exploit, a broad coalition of DeFi entities is coming together to support Aave users affected by the incident.

The initiative, informally dubbed 'DeFi United,' has garnered over $300 million in commitments from various participants. The contributions include grants, deposits, and credit lines, with some entities pledging significant amounts. For instance, Consensys has agreed to commit up to 30,000 ETH in financial support, while Compound is proposing a grant of up to 3,000 ETH.

Aave itself is also playing a key role in the effort, with its founder Stani Kulechov indicating that he would donate 5,000 ETH personally. The DAO's governance proposal outlines a plan for allocating up to 250,000 ETH as part of the recovery efforts. Other contributors within Aave's orbit are also stepping forward, including Emilio Frangella and BGD Labs.
