Squid Cross-Chain Platform Secures $6 Million Funding Boost from North Island Ventures
Squid, a cross-chain routing platform, has secured a significant funding boost with a $6 million strategic investment round led by North Island Ventures. The notable participant in this round is Ripple, a clear indication of the growing importance of interoperability in the crypto ecosystem.
The funding brings Squid's total capital to $13.5 million, providing a substantial war chest for the protocol that has quickly become one of the most-used plumbing systems in the industry. Since its launch in January 2023, Squid has processed over $6 billion in volume across more than 4 million transactions.
The platform serves over 1 million users and operates across more than 100 blockchains, supporting upwards of 20,000 tokens. North Island Ventures previously led Squid's $3.5 million seed round in 2023 and has now doubled down on the startup due to its impressive execution track record and ability to generate revenue from enterprise integrations.
The introduction of transaction fees as a new revenue stream alongside its existing enterprise services is a strategic signal that marks a significant milestone for Squid. With $6 billion in historical volume and 1 million users, the platform has more leverage than most protocols attempting the same playbook.
