US Senate Advances Clarity Act, Bitcoin Surges to $82,000
The US Senate Banking Committee has taken a significant step towards regulating the digital asset market by advancing the Clarity Act. The bill, which aims to provide clearer rules for the industry, was passed in a 15-9 bipartisan vote.
Bitcoin's price reacted positively to the news, reaching $82,000 before retreating slightly to $81,500, up 2.5% over the past 24 hours.
Crypto-linked equities also saw gains, with Coinbase leading the pack with an 8% surge. Other digital asset companies, such as Strategy and Bitmine, also saw their stock prices rise.
