Kalshi Seeks Approval for Perpetual Futures on 12 Cryptocurrencies

Perpetual futures have been gaining popularity in the cryptocurrency market, with several platforms offering these products to traders. In a recent development, prediction market platform Kalshi has submitted an application to the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) to launch perpetual futures for 12 tokens.

The tokens listed by Kalshi include Ethereum, XRP, Solana, Dogecoin, Stellar, Chainlink, Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin, Sui, Shiba Inu, Polkadot, and Hedera. This move comes after the CFTC approved Bitcoin perpetual futures last Friday.

However, it's worth noting that while the CFTC has given the green light to Bitcoin perpetual futures, other perpetual products submitted by US companies will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. The regulator has stated that certain derivatives may not be suitable for all asset classes.
